THE SPIRIT OF EGYPT & TRANSIT POWER

Isaiah 19:3,14
[3]And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
[14]The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
Islamists love power. They just love it and seek it with extreme passion (as a religious duty) in order to subdue and dominate all else! They take advantage of loopholes and lapses in nations to achieve their real intents. Even in places where they are a minority, they move stealthily to destroy the established order. They even establish Muslim-No-Go-Zones in such places!
Egypt suffered much turmoil under the dictatorial rule of Mohamed Hosni Mubarak who took over from Muhammad Anwar El Sadat who was assassinated by Islamists on the 6th October 1981. Anwar Sadat had sought peace with Israel and thus incurred the wrath of Islamic fundamentalists.
Hosni Mubarak had a firm grip of Egypt and curtailed Islamists throughout his de facto rule for about 3 decades until the entire citizenry became fed up with his iron fist. The whole land of Egypt rose against him as one, irrespective of race, tribe, sect or religious affiliation. Hosni Mubarak couldn’t survive the ‘Arab Spring’ – he fell. A cry for true Democracy erupted through all nooks and cranny of Egypt. For once they all forgot their racial and sectarian differences in order to bring down a dictatorship. It worked!
No sooner than the transitional Military junta took over the reins of Government, the whole nation and an entire opposition structure led by the so-called Muslim Brotherhood became more than ever vociferous. An Election was subsequently called for. The Muslim Brotherhood won the Election because all sectors of citizenry gave them a majority vote – all because they just wanted anything but Mubarak. It all seemed as if a stage was set for national reconciliation, healing and true harmony. Unfortunately this noble cause was scuttled.
Meanwhile, the Islamists rose up more viciously and saw an opportunity to subdue everyone and destroy other non-conformist entities. Mohamed Morsi their leader who just became President through the votes of a diverse electorate ignored all others in favour of his Islamic Brotherhood folks. Another form of tyranny just began almost immediately. Morsi was weak and biased towards his sect, to the detriment of other minorities like the Coptic Christians who gave him an overwhelming support. Persecution of Christians and other moderate Muslims began and the gains of the ‘Arab Spring’ were eroded rapidly.
Eventually the oppressed citizens had to cry out again for Military intervention and General Abdul Fatah El Sisi who led the Military transition a short while ago had to step in and take over. Mohamed Morsi reacted against the coup and he was arrested, treated as a rebel. Charges were brought against him with regards to acts of terror perpetrated by Muslim Brotherhood militants. He had to answer for deaths, injustices and outright oppression of legitimate oppositions.
Mohamed Morsi would have become a national hero and father of Modern, Democratic and Free Egypt. His ambition, hypocrisy, tactlessness and ineptitude ruined him. He faced grievous charges he couldn’t defend in the Courts of Law. This took years of endless litigation and he died as a prisoner during a Court session. He lived a life of vanity – characterized by vain pursuit of power. Power eventually corrupted him and absolute power corrupted him absolutely. What a tragic and hopeless life!
Prophetic Future of Egypt
Egypt is in God’s plan for the last days. An elect remnant shall be found and saved in Egypt. The Messiah loves Egypt and His Gospel shall advance in the land! Egypt shall surely receive the Word of the Lord and respond accordingly. The Sriptures shall soon be fulfilled upon Egypt, both as an ancient people and modern nation.
Isaiah 19:24-25
[24]In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
[25]Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
Bye and Large…
Let this be a lesson for all power-mongers, politicians and all who occupy privileged positions. Do not let your selfish ambition consume you, or else you will die as an unsung hero or as a ‘good riddance to bad rubbish.’ To advantage of your position to better the lot of your people. Shalom.
