PROSPERING BY DIVINE REVELATION (Part 2 of 2)
By Olufunso Joseph Omidiran www.livingsword.org
We all need divine revelation so as to move forward in life. In fact, one of the distinct features that make God’s children different from mere animals like the horse or the mule is the ability to receive and walk in divine revelation. This we see once again in God’s eternal counsel:
Psalm 32:8, 9
8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. {guide…: Heb. counsel thee, mine eye shall be upon thee}
9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee
We have no excuse to fail to know God’s will and walk in it this year. We can choose to be high-flyers who will not miss out in God’s purpose. This must be our choice. However, we need to also understand that divine revelation may not come in one particular fashion. It could either be simple or spectacular but never to be ignored.
God’s revelation can come to you simply as you read or study the Scripture, as you hear the Word taught or preached, as a still small voice or as an inward witness or intuition as impressed in your heart. On the other hand, divine revelation may be as spectacular or awesome as Jacob’s dream at Bethel or like Paul’s experience on the way to Damascus or even as Peter’s vision on the housetop. In any case, what matters is that the Lord reveals things to His beloved children so that they may have a clear direction in life.
This year in particular is one in which you should be more sensitive and watchful. You may have all that you need to be a success just by a flash of God’s light. Do not be dull of hearing; neither should you be dead to the Father’s voice. Stay alive by His beam and you will arrive at your dream.
15 The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city (Ecclesiastes 10:15).
God is most willing and desirous to lead you to the city this year such that you will no more need to labour as a foolish fellow. He will not let you down if you trust in Him.
Getting Set For His Revelation
Learn to build up your spiritual status or inward man. Invest on those things that will make you spiritually sound and strong. Listen, learn, study and meditate on true biblical and enriching messages. Have a keen learning spirit that will not miss God’s Word. Endeavour to spend more time in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, our ever-present Helper and Advocate. He will train your hands to handle spiritual weapons of war and to win in life. More importantly, you must have a steadfast desire to be a doer of what God says in His written Word. Also whatever He says to you (His spoken Word), do (John 2:5).
Conclusion
The difference between successful children of God and failed ones lies in what they do with God’s word or revelation that comes to them. You should be ready to march forward at His Word and thus possess your possession. This is your year, the Spirit earnestly testifies. You will indeed prosper by divine revelation. Shalom
